Vindictiveness Within Vandettas
Hateful reaction
to another's deeds.
reveal more about oneself
than the recipient.
Author's Note
sophie_ericson's comment, prompted a change of title for this piece, from "Vengeance and Vendettas" to "Vindictiveness Within Vendettas" for it better clarifies my thoughts when writing it.
Thank You Sophie, for bringing to light the need in doing so.

Easy said than done to rise above such hateful thoughts when each given situation is different to the last

No one is sans uncontrolled thoughts, myself included. It is the action we take which define us.
To point out another's misdeeds can be admirable, going to war, not so much.
I understand and respect your view, Rose.
Thank you for weighing in.

Amen! Lately it's been hard to control anger and seep disappointment. Angry and hatred will always be self-destructive. Thank you for the think. Brava!

"Angry and hatred will always be self-destructive."
Wise words indeed, my friend. It affects oneself more so than the one it is directed toward.
Thanks for the read and comment, Bob

Indeed.
Ferocity of reaction, though totally non-violent may be the intent, sometimes conveys the opposite!
Patience, never an easy feat! I say the Mount Everest of human traits!
Wise, is my friend
And a Friend indeed is the One who always reminds her/his friends of wisdom.
Ink.
Profound.

When one sets out to harass, persecute, or intimidate another for whatever reason,
wise observers are given a peek into the harasser's character, not a pretty sight.
My friend's kindred thoughts a delight to behold.

Thank you, Hans, though I only call it as I see it, it's reassuring others
feel likewise. Perhaps if we all speak out, we can reduce the amount of bullying that is prevalent in society today.

I very much agree to a certain point... I let go of hate a long time ago, managed to find some type of forgiveness (I think lol) within and it was to be what set me free.
But, I do think it’s sometimes necessary to make a stance when a situation calls for nothing less.
Wise words dearest Teri.

I totally agree with taking a stance. I believe I was not clear in my meaning behind writing this piece, and have modified the title to better reflect it. (see Author's Note)

Anyone who navigates this life without being wronged by someone has indeed led a charmed life. It is how one reacts in these times that reveals the true person under the surface. I commend anyone for standing up for themselves and confronting unjust acts or accusations. However, engaging in a vendetta of hatred and spite in the course of vindication only shows one's own ugliness.
Thank you as always, Dani.

It has always amazed me, how we can be our own worst enemy when given the opportunity.
