gentle oak (Music by Oliver Woods)
a walk through the darkness
to the light I believe
to be,
beyond I imagine a friend
unknown, waiting to welcome
me on
to my future
I press on into the anticipation
all silhouettes, the stars hidden
from me, there is no light
in this darkness
and yet I know I am safe
in it
for I am here
wrapped in this darkness as
I pass on,
the beginning, the middle, & the
end
show no light
as I had imagined in the start,
yet a warm magnificence
glowing through me
grows
as I let the need for the light
to glow, go
I feel the oak reach down to
me
& touch us in love,
blown along this dark road
I feel light and warm
I think of just that,
in the distance I can imagine
but here
on this dark road
I am
with the oak
to the light I believe
to be,
beyond I imagine a friend
unknown, waiting to welcome
me on
to my future
I press on into the anticipation
all silhouettes, the stars hidden
from me, there is no light
in this darkness
and yet I know I am safe
in it
for I am here
wrapped in this darkness as
I pass on,
the beginning, the middle, & the
end
show no light
as I had imagined in the start,
yet a warm magnificence
glowing through me
grows
as I let the need for the light
to glow, go
I feel the oak reach down to
me
& touch us in love,
blown along this dark road
I feel light and warm
I think of just that,
in the distance I can imagine
but here
on this dark road
I am
with the oak
