Prosperity's Precipitation

Girl coming of age
Learns of mom's profession
Mother feels so sage
Tells a half confession

Daughter is so wily
Or just so much concerned
The half hidden slyly
To daylight is returned

Like the so many types
And so many dark ways
The pyramid of hypes
Men her business slays

The daughter's disgust
Inclines to abandon
Mother's empire to rust

While mother still cries
And curses and gnashes
Daughter fears what it buys
Would leave it to ashes

But oh was the girl right
Letting all of it go
When she could make it right
With the wealth she could sow

To suffering thousands
From the userer's coffers
Returning to poor hands
The redemption it offers

Could cleanse the guilt
Turning bitter to sweet
For the many tears spilt
Bring the poor to their feet
