grey flowers of pain
yesterday wept
on tomorrow's flowers
nourishing blossoms of pain
they opened their faces
to the light of false hope
being firmly planted
in the beds of denial
they're grey in color
representing my uncertain future
a truthful sun
never to shine upon them
instead a liars moon
causes them to bloom in the shadows
where raindrops of sorrow
infuse them with
the most vibrant shade
of what if?
i've ever seen
i pick them chanting
he loves me, he loves me not
it's a love of forever
or maybe not
lies stain my lips
i wonder if regret
penetrates the passion
of liars not caught yet
i choke down honesty
afraid of the fallout
in torment i dig my very own grave
to be adorned
with little grey flowers
little flowers of shame
