A Change For The Better
I know that I can’t possibly have been all alone
As someone who could fall for a pretty face
Without the need of a personality at all
Knowing that I wasn’t alone doesn’t make me feel any better
It’s a hard thing to face that you’ve been so shallow
For so long
And finally realizing it and making changes in my life
Doesn’t make me feel as good as I wish it did
But it’s a start to know
That even at this late date
I’m capable of change
And all it took was you
To wake me up and make me realize what I had been missing

Oft, when you reach that kinda self - realisation, it’s meant to be.
Some people, serve a purpose in our lives, whether it be to have & to hold, to nurture & nourish, or to simply just be there as a tool for inner growth.
