It's a sad sight
When the most important person
Has lost their hope
And they feel nothing

Say that you hope they feel better
Wish them happy thoughts
And sincerely mean it

But you've been trapped in that pit
You've been trapped inside for years
Worthlessness coupled with hopelessness
You fear you'll never get out alive

Two lovers trapped in depression
One tells others to an extent
The other wallows wishing to be set free
Neither really knowing what to do

What will happen when one gives up on the other
Saying that they can't stay longer
Come with me please
But the other won't move?

The other is afraid
Deathly afraid of the loneliness
They both know that loneliness
Known it most of their lives

Don't leave me
The one begs but they can't stand
The other leaves wishing to stay
But how could they?

Even when together the two lovers are always alone
Their hopelessness and worthlessness so crushing
That they can't feel or see the other
And they can't ask for help

The loneliness and depression grips them both
The two lovers can't escape it
Even when they are beside each other
No real comfort can be given
