Reflection
When I look in the mirror what do I see
And what is it that I don't?
I see a thinning of hair
In the family passed down
Confused never I
With the looks of a clown
Too much has met my pearly whites
That can stain them in the years
Even tried restorative measures
Without much success I do fear
Dimples still seen in smiling
My uncle Nat had them too
Got me in trouble with a unknown aunt
But what is five year old to do
When faced with a kiss
Strange lady puckers up
In return my tiny fist
Not strong enough to make a cut
Added a few pounds yes I have
Running track not as big
Not too stiff to in my capacity
To stand up and do a jig
Now passed the half point of living
What fits me to a tee
Is that the mirror really says so little
About the whole package that is me!
And what is it that I don't?
I see a thinning of hair
In the family passed down
Confused never I
With the looks of a clown
Too much has met my pearly whites
That can stain them in the years
Even tried restorative measures
Without much success I do fear
Dimples still seen in smiling
My uncle Nat had them too
Got me in trouble with a unknown aunt
But what is five year old to do
When faced with a kiss
Strange lady puckers up
In return my tiny fist
Not strong enough to make a cut
Added a few pounds yes I have
Running track not as big
Not too stiff to in my capacity
To stand up and do a jig
Now passed the half point of living
What fits me to a tee
Is that the mirror really says so little
About the whole package that is me!
