Light in the Dark

Beautiful poem. You conveyed very well the narrator's desperation to not be left in the darkness.

The feeling of being toyed with emotionally

i love that second stanza

"my heart is now an open wound
it took some time but i let my walls cave
I swooned and i fell and i lost the way
don't leave me to die "- so vulnerable , relinquish my defense mechanisms

"i fall too soon  
and i love so hard
hopelessly falling into your gravity "- throwing everything you have at it, full on assault of Love and release


"I saw the light of your sun
the love of your world
I fled from the darkness  
and into your arms" - you were refuge, i was the hunted


"you run your fingers through my hair
and tenderly hold my face and chin"- so delicate this life is and so fragile to be pushed over the edge

this 5th stanza is amazing
" i fear you will push me away
I fear you will shut the door in my face
brandish a blade and leave it in my chest
for the most successful of killers  
are the ones who show love best " bravo,bravo. weather you took your time with this or it just rolled off the end of your pen, it paid off. we could bathe in this line like fresh warm soapy bathtub water.color me purple because we're reading royal lines fit for the courts ears.you just robbed words from the rich and gave to the poor waiting for a write to set us free.


"so as i lay here and think of you
I ask for only one thing..
 
to not show me a light in the darkness
just to tear it away"  -we reject the very Love we seek,that we sought. Love can tear us apart like wild animals in the wild of the night, none will survive till' the dawn.
