To and Fro
I’m a mix of to and fro
first the high and then the lows
this we’ll explore to illustrate
the poet’s license to represent
depravity is spectrum’s lure
holiness is the outcome
one or the other makes for a life
though confusion may then result.
Disorder sowed in what you’ll see
this lack of set consistency
first God is mentioned with a breath
the spiritual brought to center place
then I’ll exclaim there is a space
for a person to find their talisman
where order is brought to a life
exclamation of what mandate’s lure.
What I think is who I am
the product of my varied thoughts
wrapped inside this mortal coil
all my sides will manifest
they say between is lukewarm
to be spit from the mouth
how I live is all too boring
statements bold while life is dull.
My thoughts drive me to fight
activism put to the front
against a world I’d like to join
presenting doors to meet and talk
I’ll walk between the warring groups
small degrees between all souls
the highs and lows are well met

This was really all too relatable. Definitely convicting. "Statements bold, while life is dull."
I love how there are multiple dichotomies here. A very rich poem indeed! Lots to think about.

It is impossible to be all things to all people. I strongly suspect I'm not nearly enough for anybody in my life. With that said, we do what we can, for who we care for, and leave the rest to the divine.
