Terribly Beautiful

Like flames licking back and forth lulling you to sleep, taking you on a journey that is beautiful. The same flames can rage and roar, destroying everything it touches.

Like the ocean, with the tide coming in and out whispering to you things that are beautiful. The same ocean can drag you from shore and fill your lungs leaving you to sink into darkness.

Like the sun shining down on you so bright, filling your days with warmth that feels beautiful. That same sun can scorch and burn your skin leaving you blistered and raw.

Like a rose growing in the garden, enticing you with its delightful smell and it looks beautiful. That same rose can prick and gouge your flesh when you try to pluck it, stinging and bleeding.

Like love in your heart, thumping and thrumming, filling you with a sensation that is beautiful. The loss of that same love can cripple and break you when it’s gone.

Like death with it’s sweet release taking you to a place of peace, it can be beautiful. In the same way, death can be a painful agony, full of suffering and leaving you screaming.

Like everything beautiful in this world, so can it be terrible.
