Cracked Perfection
Cracked lenses torment the greater picture, distorting the pigments and reconfiguring the placement.
There are ghosts surrounding two whispering the pasts woes in our still damaged minds.
Our souls are still struggling too steady the foot in solid ground,
but we are still a little fearful and leary of the here and now.
We are glued back together uneasily along our cracks,
moving closer still with each second's pass.
We know what it is too be on opposing sides,
struggling to improvise what was lost to the tormented life line.
We wriggled away pressing our tears to cave between our closed eyelids,
as our hearts bled in the space that had formed between us.
Perfection tore in places,
but threads held our souls together in our parting,
keeping our dreams connected.
Attempted holding our backs turned to the reality that we were forbidding breath from our lungs in our ignorance.
We would stare from afar at each others warmth in the stars dancing outside our windows
and wonder where we turned from what mattered.
Was a cold day,
and the nights screamed of us,
it was bound...
We were bound too retrace our steps returning to our hearts awaiting our return to arms.
Your accent too me drew running to my tired feet,
my tears escaping eyes wide open to fall upon your cheeks as I so eagerly carry yours in my dimples.
It was a warm night finding our starting point too be where we belong,
when for so long we had wandered in darkness and loss.
Your arms feel too me like home.
Our portrait is a bit different,
we are different now,
but the heart is always knowing, never hesitating.
We are damaged and still struggling to place our feet in solid ground,
but we are worth the war it takes too replace the scars.
I love you just isn't enough,
but my love,
you are enough!
Everything in me knows its placement with you,
we are two pieces of a puzzle fitting effortlessly back in place beside each other...
and darlin that is exactly where we belong.
No place would keep us warm say for our closeness in body, mind and heart.
