Ode to a Tree
Oh, to be a tree
A tall and mighty oak
Bereft of all the weight
That leaves my spirit broke
My branches would be flayed
Toward the setting sun
Even when the bough breaks
And sap begins to run
The weight of all the world
Is washed away with ease
But roots retain the spark
That light my memories
A tall and mighty oak
Bereft of all the weight
That leaves my spirit broke
My branches would be flayed
Toward the setting sun
Even when the bough breaks
And sap begins to run
The weight of all the world
Is washed away with ease
But roots retain the spark
That light my memories
