The Minotaur

I first met this man of myth
when my soul was stuck in a dark labyrinth.

He was strong of will just like the bull
he treated me with kindness
showed me he came with the right tools
to take me through the maze.

My head still stuck in a methadone haze
he loved me still
like a soldier at his post
he made sure I made all my destinations.

Kept me safe and stood up to the devil himself
when he tried to take me.

My sweet minotaur
when I tried to push you out of my life
you said "fool you can't shake me i'm half man half bull."

I was hurt as a youth
I had built an iron wall
the minotaur I love
walked right through it as if it didn't exist.

He awakened passion in me
I thought long dead
fed my fire and made sure it didn't burn.

I have much I can learn from this man
my minotaur, he has a unique way of looking at the world.

He allows me to be myself and listens to all my tales
that's why I love this man half bull.
