Introspective Detective

My introspective detective keeps me up at night
Reflecting on all of my moves that I've made in life
The good, the bad, the ugly and the indifferent
I've continued marching on cause I'm persistent
Many of blunders I've made in this game of chess
Helped me to learn several lessons from every test
Journeyed through battlefields and became a man
Like a veteran Soldier of wars in very distant lands
Climbed through the ranks & evolved from a pawn to a King
Betrayal got some dishonorably discharged off of my team
This convoy has been very bumpy from the SP to every CP
But I'm persevering like hustlers in the streets of D.C. & P.G.
The block is hot but I can't stop and I won't stop
Until I reach my demise and my casket is dropped
When I've reached my doom and inevitably retired to the catacombs
And my royal crown is passed down to my son who I'm trying to groom
