The Saloon
We were only 20 something
not far from the cradle
at the bar with all the entertainment we ever thought we'd need.
Stripper night for ladies was a cocktail of young men
darting accross a tiny stage for all of us to see.
We always went to the after-party
because that's what groupies do.
A stripper boy was there messed up
and I was drinking too.
He asked me to sit down by him next to the fireplace on the floor.
I knelt down where I stood so he could hear what I would say.
I watched him pull his pants down more but I thought it was so funny
drunk as I was I stood back up , laughed, and walked away.
I never saw his face again on strip night or the bar,
glad I never took that turn where whores are always marked.
Just a short phase from this life along the learning curve-
Maybe of no value to him, but I knew of it's worth.
Don't fuck everything you see or everyone that wants to
because later on in life it could come back to haunt you.
