Bubba Rosa

All them hot days we spent throwin bails,
Just to see that damn barn burn to the ground.
That summer you picked up the pretty blond gal,
Remember that healer we picked up at the pound?
We spent that summer gettin that old Chevy runnin,
Two bottles of of Jamison put it down in the creek.
I remember how long that walk home was,
Damn cops didn't find that wreck for another week.
Them good days tastin of Levi Garrett and bourbon,
Workin the farm and livin our lives good.
We could out drink any man in this county,
And we let em all know we damn sure would.
That's the fall I had to put you in the ground,
Shoulda known that our fun couldn't last too long.
I burried you with your trusty six shot forty five,
I made sure to sing your favorite Johnny Cash song.
I poured you a tall one out,
Think I had about twenty five.
Wrecked my truck in the same place you did,
Don't know why I'm still alive.
I left that truck there,
I left the farm too.
I left everyone I guess,
Needed something new.
The years have gone by hard bubba,
Each one gets harder to try,
I'll love you forever and I'll do my best,
So good night bubba and good bye.
