Death Waltz
She curtsied to him slowly,
This figure in the dark;
Submissively grasped his hand,
On one final dance to embark.
Her sorrows cast into his arms,
as gently their hips did sway;
Dreams tossed with each motion into the void,
On this, her final day.
While his grip continued to tighten,
her future began to dim;
No thoughts of before or after,
Only present in this moment with him.
As he dipped her back with grace,
She inhaled her very last breath;
Succumbing to the comfort of his embrace,
dancing the waltz with Death.

Succumbing to the comfort of his embrace,
dancing the waltz with Death.
