Diary Of A Romance Addict #14
Stormy and I got over our first real fight. Even though he seemed like his old self, I knew he wasn't happy living apart from me. I tried not to worry about it but being so insecure, I gave into my anxious thoughts. It had really hurt when he accused me of using him for sex. My rational mind tells me it was only said in anger and that he couldn't really feel that way. On top of that, I've treated him with love and respect, leaving him no reason to feel insecure in our relationship.
I still love Stormy and don't want to lose him. I'm just not on that pink cloud anymore. I know all couples fight and we were probably overdue for one. Things just didn't seem perfect in our relationship anymore.
Not long after that, he and I were sitting on the couch watching t.v. after supper when his cell phone rang. He started to get up but changed his mind. The conversation didn't last very long still he seemed to be acting kind of strange. As soon as he hung up, I asked him who was on his phone.
"It was nobody.
"You were talking on the phone. It had to be somebody.
He hesitated for a moment then he told me it was a lady from work. When I asked him what she wanted he explained that she needed a ride to work in the morning.
"Doesn't she have a car?" I asked bewildered.
"Yes but it broke down. It's in the shop getting fixed."
"So are you giving her a ride?" I asked growing a little suspicious.
"I told her I would."
"Will you be taking her home after work also?"
"No, I won't" he said sounding a little irritated with all of my questions. "She said if I got her to work she would find her own way home if her car wasn't ready by then."
I'm not sure why I was feeling so insecure at that point but I couldn't quit grilling him.
"How may I ask did she get your cellphone number?"
"I don't know," he said with a strange look on his face, "I didn't give it to her."
"Oh come on, Stormy! How else would she have gotten it?"
"Someone else at work must've given it to her."
"Now you're lying," I accused him."Is she your new girlfriend or something?"
"I am not lying to you."
"Who is she? Is she the secretary?"
"No. She's a construction worker. But don't worry, she's not attractive." I laughed at him then said, "What does that have to do with anything?"
"There's no reason for you to be jealous. She's really ugly. All the guys at work think she's a lesbian."
"Oh Gawd!" I said incredulously. "If you only knew how stupid you sound." He got up in a huff and crossed to the front door.
"Are we going somewhere?"
"I'm going to get the trash off the floor of the trunk if you must know."
"That's good. We wouldn't want anyone knowing what a slob you are."
"You're acting like a two year old," he said slamming the door on his way out.
