A Tree
Into the snow i paint my pain
it is the image of you
too cold to care
burning my fingers on touch
walking through a frozen land
distant and unpresent
the taste of winter is
coming alive in your eyes
this used to be a garden
kissed by sun, cherished by life
melodies hiding in every leaf
my own beautiful den
and then you sprung
a beautiful oak
on top of a grassy plain
every day i would come
to hug you and play
i thought you would protect me
when the storm came
that i could hide under your crown
and avoid the rain
but your crown so beautiful
called for the lightning's love
i remember dying under you
the electric kiss
that did not belong to me
but you and the sky
threw me away
into my demise
and now i sit here in the snow
just a leafless skeleton in my eyes
you killed me
but you have died
it is the image of you
too cold to care
burning my fingers on touch
walking through a frozen land
distant and unpresent
the taste of winter is
coming alive in your eyes
this used to be a garden
kissed by sun, cherished by life
melodies hiding in every leaf
my own beautiful den
and then you sprung
a beautiful oak
on top of a grassy plain
every day i would come
to hug you and play
i thought you would protect me
when the storm came
that i could hide under your crown
and avoid the rain
but your crown so beautiful
called for the lightning's love
i remember dying under you
the electric kiss
that did not belong to me
but you and the sky
threw me away
into my demise
and now i sit here in the snow
just a leafless skeleton in my eyes
you killed me
but you have died
