Mistakes
you know
no matter
how
hard i
try
reality
crashing
down on
my entire
body
you beat me so severely i was in the ICU
but when i lie awake i night i don't wish you'd burn
its only for your touch i yearn
learning to live without you physically hurts
and it hurts much more than your fists hitting my jaw
on most days

This piece was written around 7 years ago. Thankfully, I got the help necessary to get out of that situation shortly after I penned this poem.
