Inquiries Of A Hue Man

When you're truly remorseful for historical iniquities then you find a way to atone
You don't just tell folks to get over it or move on because it happened so long ago
If your demographic collectively benefitted off the free labor from the plantations
How can you morally be up in arms and fighting so hard against giving reparations
With the history of chattel slavery, Jim Crow segregation and few things still taking place today
How can you unflinchingly say that you're against social service programs with a straight face
How can you say that you're a Christian who's following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ
But yet you still openly discriminate, hate, and berate a race just because we're not white
How can you constantly keep observing people being gunned down like animals by police
And the very first thing you say is they're not all bad and you call for us to remain at peace
When we protest in silence and refrain from reciprocating the unwarranted inflicted violence
You somehow still find a way to have so much to say and want us to obey and be tolerant
But yet when something happens to you or someone in your crew you act like damn fools
You're quick to want to go to war but somehow you're able to ignore the storms of other people
So this is an inquiry to you man, my fellow human from the enlightened mind of a hue man
Who's tiresomely and constantly trying extremely hard to understand and fully comprehend
How much longer do you think we're going to continue to endure all of these afflictions
These issues can't just keep being ignored of course so it's time to write the prescriptions
To alleviate some of the agonizing pains and infinite sufferings of melanated beings like me
So are we all going to collectively work together to change the weather to avoid World War III
Or is the mere thought of fully integrated peace nothing more than a fallacy or a pipe dream
I unfortunately believe it's the latter no matter how much I'd rather we worked as one team
