When Once We Shone
Born and raised in the human race,
Like suns we shone through life.
From distant worlds our hearts danced in the night sky;
A sign of love, in a galaxy of cold rejection.
Constellations of feelings I had for you,
Were gazed at by the eyes of lonely sky watchers;
They seen my dreams as cosmic dust, in wonder
Spread across the boundless sea of space.
As we grew, the tangled wires of our hearts sent hot sparks in motion;
Sparks that lit the fires from which you smothered,
And from which I burned.
The exodus of love bore a supernova trail of mass destruction,
And when we died, the whole world died with us.
Like suns we shone through life.
From distant worlds our hearts danced in the night sky;
A sign of love, in a galaxy of cold rejection.
Constellations of feelings I had for you,
Were gazed at by the eyes of lonely sky watchers;
They seen my dreams as cosmic dust, in wonder
Spread across the boundless sea of space.
As we grew, the tangled wires of our hearts sent hot sparks in motion;
Sparks that lit the fires from which you smothered,
And from which I burned.
The exodus of love bore a supernova trail of mass destruction,
And when we died, the whole world died with us.
