JUST A DREAM

 

Well, you always hear people say:
“Not all people are here to stay.”
While some of them will see you cry,
Some are just simply passing by.

Some will stopover for many years
yet will never know about your fears.
Some may swing in a blink of an eye
and trigger all your deepest desires.

Some will leave profound marks
within the corners of your heart.
Some are just like shallow stain
easily known, easily forgotten…

You! you came rather unexpectedly
and smiled at me so dejectedly.
But there was something in your eyes
that took me by great surprise.

I have known you for very long;
I have known you, I can’t be wrong.!
I have seen you many, many times
Dancing along the melancholic chimes.

Your mere presence freezes my brain
I suddenly forgot about all the pain
From all the people I had to let go of
And yes, just like that, I fell in love.!

So I asked myself, “by any chance,
am I still living in a trance?”
Your face, I wanted so much to feel
To prove that you are for real.

Ah! But when I was about to reach you,
the music stopped, the cold wind blew.
You shut the door, oh, what a shame
You didn’t even bother asking my name.

Well, to you, I am just a shallow stain
easily known, easily forgotten…
and I have to convince myself, so it seems
I’m in a trance and you are just a dream!
