Unfixable Friendship
Through the thick and thin of our college days
You were there for me through every drama
Filled day. You helped me navigate every maze
And hill. At that age we had our fill of trauma
And uncertainty. You tried as hard as you could
To hold that big sister role, but as friends do we
Drifted apart over guys, distance, and what would
Be a difference of opinions. We set each other free
From the burden of trying to make something that
Simply would not work. A friendship and bond,
Broken. The escalation of every argument and spat
Was pointless. We could not step over the pond
And over to the other side of it all. I lost
A friendship that I thought I would have forever.
We can stop pretending there is no fire or frost.
We said our goodbyes and pulled that lever.
