A Poem to Too Many
You hurt me in the worst kind of way.
Oblivious to my excruciating pain,
you allowed my demons
to set fire to the walls I once created.
Your actions were malevolent
and the words you said,
you claimed weren't meant.
Now I'm left here in the dark
with your promises scattered along
the floor like a broken picture frame.
I'm haunted by what I can't replace.
I doubt everything I once deemed safe,
because you were my tranquility,
and now you're just another passing stranger's face.
Oblivious to my excruciating pain,
you allowed my demons
to set fire to the walls I once created.
Your actions were malevolent
and the words you said,
you claimed weren't meant.
Now I'm left here in the dark
with your promises scattered along
the floor like a broken picture frame.
I'm haunted by what I can't replace.
I doubt everything I once deemed safe,
because you were my tranquility,
and now you're just another passing stranger's face.
