6: 15:  The Razed Forest

Excerpt 15 from Journal 6, 'Becoming My True Love'
   - From ' Journals To My True Love, Part 2 '

My Love, as I look out onto the razed forest I see so
   much, the remains of what was...
I can see a great distance past it, a view that was hidden
   in its heyday of greenery...
I know that only I see what this land once was, others would
   see a barren lot...
But I knew it wasn't barren but full of life, and you were there...
Reflected in each water drop, each leaf, each patch of moss
   held your design as God had created it...
How I knew you as myself...
The forests life was a part of me; a shelter, a joy, a wonderment,
   a hope giving inspiration...
It was the forest of my heart...
How I was enveloped in it, yet blinded by its lushness to the bigger
   picture that lay beyond it; a horizon, a future, a new day...
It began to emerge only when, one by one, the trees died for
   various reasons...
Everything reaches the end of its natural life and so are trees as
   people this way...
Relationships are a flickering flame that is not indefinite...
But because you are written in the very concept of life,
   you are an exception, My Love...
That concept is your immortality to weather lifes storms...
I lost sight of the life, the greenery, but never you...
You are the timeless blue sky which transcends it...
And you are always just beyond it...
The forest is razed but you are eternal...
You are on the ground, the ashes, you are in it...
You can sift through my fingers but are never lost...
Your formlessness is what makes you impermanent...
I look out at the razed forest and see only you,
   and the sight is pure beauty, pure love...
And the pure design is My True Love...
