I Could Not
I could not love him with my body
My hands could not graze the heat of his skin
My lips could not adore his with delirious kisses
Or whisper devotion against his neck
I could not breathe in his scent
Nor taste his mutual desire
I could not feel his pleasure glide along mine
Slick and sweet
I could not burn in his arms
Our passion would never be
A tangible thing..
So I loved him with my mind
Oh how I loved him
Touching him deeply with every thought
Divulging in these luscious corporeal dreams
Of all the ways I would love him if I could
And oh how he loved me
His arousing intellect blending with mine
Heartstrings intertwined
We became a cerebral masterpiece.
