Leaving again for nyc

Leaving it all behind once again, As I step on the china town bus on the highway to hell to escape a hell that I was already in, I step off the bus in the middle of the night in the cold streets of the lower east side for my last and final time to be greeted by a friend that made it all happen, the walk was short & sweet blazing cigarettes that were missed out on the bus on the long ride urging me to use my feet walking on no sleep from popping uppers it felt good to hit the night time streets on Christmas eve, I get inside & walk up flights of stairs to the top of the squat where liquid methadone is sipped not popped putting me fast to sleep, Then waking up to a place where I can just forget it all , a place of non judgement where they stand tall, For human rights they call this place squatters paradise & indeed it was in ways for me a anti racist anti sexist community. where travelers/runaways  can have a place to sleep, & you can run into the most interesting people who you might not meet on the so called "normal" street, after days there , there was a thickness in the air & new years eve it was as my friend was with someone else , alone in the basement again, cowboy comes in  with  fireworks & beer there was a smile when I saw him as he was another friend I met there , we went to the top lighting fireworks at the stroke of mid night then I felt it was all right , you could see time squares lights & people roaring as fire works fly off the building ,I leave in time again as it was the same crazy feeling but in a good way this time , on my way back satin shows his face on the bus window , an image I will not forget as the person next to me witnessed it , as if evil was still with me & I needed to shake it off , a energy that could not win me over as I passed life's test once again in the haunted vampire squat building .
