I wonder .....

When I'm old and the years have past,          
will I look at you and tell you it was worth it.  
That I still love you like I do today.  
Will I be able to tell you that you            
filled my life with joy            
and will you hear me say
that you loved me like no other.
Will I look at your beautiful face and see that
you have aged with me.  
That we have grown old together  
That we fought for each other            
and won.            
           
Or ...            
           
When I'm old and the            
years have past,          
Will I only be thinking of you.            
Will I still love you like            
I do today.            
Will I wonder what your beautiful face            
looks like with time.            
I'll know that we grew old with others            
and we lost our fight .            
           
Will I feel your touch or only ache for it.    
Will I taste your kiss or only crave it.      
Will you be real or just a lost love      
I still yearn for.    
         
There'll be no doubt in my mind            
that you changed me.            
That you made my life            
better in every way.            
           
I don't know if I'll smile or cry ....      
 and if I have only one regret it will be            
that we had to say goodbye.
