wings

there once was an angel
who hid from her past
who once asked a god
if he could take it all back
although she was loved
she wanted much more
she glimmered and shone
as she shrunk to the floor

he gave her a new
he send her to earth
where she met a sweet boy
and found her self worth
the more time they spent
the further she fell
as her wings were spread
they withered, as well

she found the gift from god
he had kept to his word
until one day of fate
when she found a small bird
it was on a deep-wooded walk
underneath the night sky
next to a small stream
as she happened to glance by

he had lay rotting, dead
found such, with no sound
as she caught her refelection
a feather swiftly fell down
she realized they were her own
they were tattered and torn
she looked up, to see the boy smiling
and then, noticed his horns

the boy had been plotted
had been even forseen
to have this young angel
pulled from her wings
he had tricked her, you see
he had planned it so well
he had sent her down to earth
instead of to hell
