Like a Dying Sun
I cannot undo what I have done,
Our love fades away like a dying sun;
In tattered pieces the remnants linger,
A ring boxed up to never grace my finger.
I cannot undo what I have done,
Do not deserve the heart that I once won;
In beautiful memories his smile shows bright,
But the present is shadows, all absence of light.
I cannot undo what I have done,
And no, I'm not the only one;
Our forever abandoned in a request for time,
Now spoken of only in the occasional rhyme.
I cannot undo what I have done,
And for that, my soul, it weighs a ton;
But our moments I will cherish until the day I rest,
And shall wish for him always, only the best.
