Falling In Love
Falling in love
It starts with a small ripple
In your heart
A hitch in your breath
The tingle across your skin
When your lover touches you
Looking into their eyes
And seeing a world of possibilities
Lay forth before you
A smile that just
takes your breath away
Lips that when they touch yours
Sends your spirit swirling amongst
The stars
Coming only back to earth
When they hold you in their arms
A whisper in your ear
Sends shivers down your spine
And inside you pray silently
To have them always
In your life
Anticipation of seeing them
When you have been apart
Only for an hour
And yet every moment with them
Is like holding a ball of glass
Fragile
But perfect
Trying not to hope
But hoping all the same
Knowing that by revealing
Those three little words
A whole world opens before you
But not saying them
Just in case
They are not returned
Being the first and last thought
On your mind
And finding yourself smiling
Throughout the day
Knowing they are yours
And yours alone
Racing to get home
So you can throw your arms around
The one you are falling in love with
Hold them
Kiss them
Caress them
Just to be near them
Is the sun shining through
The storm clouds
for you
The cool breeze on a summers day
Painful when you are alone
Because your very being
Cries out for them
Is lost without their presence
Is cold without their warmth
Are numb without their touch
To bring you to life
Am I falling in love?
Or am I in love?
How quickly can you say
Yes this is it
I am in love with you
Or is it infatuation
Lust
I know in my heart,
as I feel it expand
Within my chest
Just by thinking of your smile
This is not Lust
I know by the emptiness of
My bed
This is not infatuation
I am falling in love with you
A daydream becoming reality
I cry tears of joy
As fear lingers in my heart
Broken
but you heal my scars
Make me whole once more
Falling in love with you
Is a tenderness I am
Willing to wait for
To take a chance for
And I hope and pray
You are falling for me to.
