I Choose

So tell me, what restitution is there in the advances of your pursuit?
The sword has been drawn.
the white flag stained,
breached of it's innocence.
Forewarned of this precedent,
Precise unveil.
Precious it all may be,
But the element of surprise -
Recoils for yet another attack.
The simple cycle
You-
lacked to be convinced of.
The never ending
constant:
Tug of war.
The good vs evil--
The brain vs heart--
The actions vs words.
The start...
Oh the beginning,
To the endless
Trapped maze.
And still I stand amazed...
Jaw open,
Gasping for the words.
Eyes pooling,
As my shaking hands try to hide
The obvious-
Heartbroken betrayal.
No more can the smile
Fool
even the deaf man.
No more can my words
Convince
The blind.
Yet the truth-
my hearts beat for,
A simple line to reassure
That the pain is worth
All the pleasure,
I choose to adore.
And that's what makes
This all the worse
I choose this-
I choose,
Harsh words
Broken promises.
I choose,
To blend in and be seen as
If I was paint on the wall.
A crack in cement.
A leaf falling from a tree.
I choose this.
So what does that make me?
Codependent
Addict
To the beaten and breathless
Love?
If to be even called such a thing
A kiss and I'm sorry
To a hug so tight to
Suffocate the thoughts of leaving
To a bouquet of flowers
So beautiful I ignore
The ugly?
