Unsend Letters
I liked to think we were one of a kind;
that we were so alike in a way other people wasn't.
I liked to think that wherever I went,
you would follow - cause I was following you in the first place.
I used to think of forever and ever, but forever is too good to be true.
I used to think a lot.
People say we've grown apart.
And maybe we have, despite me not having grown an inch since 7th grade.
Anyhow, we went our different roads.
Well, you went yours.
I'm trying not to be bitter, I swear.
But a reason, or just a goodbye would have been nice.
Even if it's from afar, I'm proud to observe the adult you've become.
I try not to think about the fact that it could have been with me by your side, sharing your laughter.
It hasn't changed at all...
I try not to think so much anymore.
It leaves this pressure in my skull, and a stinging in my heart.
Sometimes it just sneaks up on me.
I sincerely hope you're doing well.
I never wished you anything but the best.
that we were so alike in a way other people wasn't.
I liked to think that wherever I went,
