The other son
I'll always be a shadow.
A shadow of who you are.
I'll never be that one.
No, I'll never be you.
I'll always be the other son.
The one everyone forgets about.
I won't travel the world.
I won't impress the ladies.
I'll never have a wife.
I won't have a new jeep.
I'll never have a happy life.
No, I'll never be you.
You have the military and for dad that is enough.
I have nothing.
Nobody will ever call me tough.
Hell I can't even impress my own damn parent.
But I'm your brother and to me that's something.
You are a husband an uncle and a son.
And me? I'll always be the other one.
Because I'll never be you
A shadow of who you are.
