Reckless with My Heart

He held my heart with reckless hands
My love slipping through his fingers like sands
I pacified his addictions with urgent sincerity
But he compromised my trust with deceitful integrity

He kissed my heart with lying lips
Said that he would be alone on imaginary trips
He dressed me with diamonds and pearls
To hide his guilty lust for other girls

Now he cries for me with please-forgive-me arms
Asking me to accept his worn out charms
Reckless with my heart? Let him long for my touch
Let him crave me like I craved him; he deserves that much
