Beautiful Creatures
I never expected you to get under my skin, but now thought of kissing you runs over and over through my head.
The fantasy of our legs intertwined courses through my mind.
The ache for your finger tips grazing upon my spine, delicate strokes and skin on skin.
The longing of your breath on my ear as you whisper your faults and sins for only me to hear.
I never wanted to let you in but here you are in my bleeding heart.
I wear it hidden on my sleeve, for only your eyes to see.
You're the missing key to the dreams I never thought could be.
Meet me underneath the willlow tree that weeps for us in our vacant field.
Take my hand and lie with me in the sun kissed grass.
Feel the mythical shadows prance and dance across our bodies embraced as the sun descends and sets.
Let your achey bones settle down with mine, leaving the loneliness behind.
Nestle in as I breathe you in, breathe me out as the dusk will envelope us in its enchanted lust.
*i started writing this poem and I didn't know where it was coming from at first. But as I was writing it I realized it wasn't me who was writing it, but a character of a book series I've been reading over the past couple of years. It's as though I've become so connected to this character that her story is starting to come out into my poetry. It's like her poetry has come out into mine.
The book series is the Caster Chronicles and the character is Lena.
