Senryu View

Savor the moments
and silence between;
when a sentence is paused,
a hushed fawn stays unseen.

A poetry's rhythm
sends thrills down my spine,
depression is toxic
and cripples my mind.

Once was a day when
the sun bloomed a sonnet,
now night sends droll hymns
soaked in gin and tonic.

I slip into darkness,
head swirls with elegies,
then a Coronach spreads
like a fatal disease.

But dawn kissed me 'wake
with dew's damp allegory,
hints of a moral
told there's more to the story.

When morn sun broke out
it burst cacophony,
struck me cold sober
warmed the daylights in me.

I dove in to deep ends
of my creative mind,
extracted the darkness
then I wove it in rhyme.

Crocheted me a sonnet
about my own death;
elegy of one whose
death hasn't come yet.

When full moon rose up
I did not shy away,
it glowed me aware
of my old, wicked ways.

New embers now burn
on my twilighting tour,
had cancerous sins
then I found my own cure.

To greet each new day
with a scrolled Senryu,
as I slowly sip
my new chill point of view.
