If poets were something else

if poets were
musicians
there would be free concerts
all around the world,
in stadiums,
shopping malls,
narrow streets.

if poets were
bakers
there wouldn´t be
hungry people on this world.

let the poets be drivers
to let the lost
wanderers
inside their full buses.

if poets were fish
I affirm responsibly:
they would jump
voluntarily
in the mouths of the fishermen.

sadly, but
poets are not bus drivers,
fish nor bakers
just
messengers of god.
