dart quickly back and forth
never stopping
never trusting
always searching

searching for the danger it knows is there
It's always there.
lurking
stalking
smiling

behind kind eyes lies the cold cruel reality
No one is who they say they are.
who they'd have you think they are

flitting
darting
searching
for one who is true to word and refuses to hide
behind a smile
behind an empty kind word
