The Green (trash-talking) Monster
In a city there lives a green monster
he goes by 'Oscar the Grouch'
he looms in dark corners of Sesame Street
in a grimy trash can of festering slime
it reeks of death and decay
and half-eaten Big-Bird rotisseries
- Even the Count avoids Grouch's dark alley
he has reason to fear his green evil
(The wind whispers tales of torture - and other assorted horrors "allegedly" inflicted upon the beloved Bert and Ernie)
- Now Elmo went missing as well - last seen playing hop-scotch alone -
One witness places him in Grouch's hood, and while most folks have little hope, they feel the red guy made a stupid mistake
Even Neighborhood Watch groups refuse to patrol
Oscar's alley
* But did you know Oscar, himself, was abused? *
The young grouch's mother tossed him out in the trash, forcing him to claw his way back up to greener landfills
When Oscar grew, he unleashed his wrath on the
world that rejected him
- He now feels no affection and kills for pure fun -
(it's strange how he smells of sardines, yet prefers tasty cats)
If one day you dare stroll along Sesame Street
(and happen to cross some railroad tracks...and go behind some housing projects...and then through some big mountains of trash)
Oscar is there hiding in shadows - you'll smell him before he appears
He's known to approach new people and start talking trash, so please keep your big lid shut!
That green monster lurks under his own trash lid waiting....
He has shown mercy to some of his victims, by tossing them out like trash - though he rarely spares anyone's life.
(I assure you, it's NOT his typical "M.O.")
Don't forget what he did to Bert and Ernie?
