The Fatality Walking

Take your hammer and your anvil,
Break my barrier, tear down my wall.
Put me on display for all to see,
As you cut through my skin and see my beating heart,
Dig deeper, pull out every organ.
Keep looking and you’ll find there’s nothing
Inside this body of skin and bones…
Just blackness….don’t get too close, it’ll suck you in.
Stip off my nails, colored hair, and makeup,
And you’ll see a scared girl who doesn’t know
Who she is and how she got to be where she’s at.
A few drinks and bad decisions along the way,
Leads to pure destruction.
Now just a body full of black,
Taking up extra room on the sidewalk.
So don’t bother to understand
Or try to get to know that hurt girl inside,
Because there aren’t words she can speak,
To allow herself to laugh or love anyone,
Every emotion a well rehearsed play.
So watch her performance from
Your chipped, wooden chair,
And applaud her happy ending,
Because it’s all an act.
Leaving the stage, she cries in her heart,
But wipes away any visibility.
So steal me, and put me on your operating table,
Cut me open and find that there’s nothing to me
Except……BLACK.
