Atrophied

Atrophied
poetic
requiems
we once weaved
I've resurrected.

Yet you
believe these
tiny elegies
were just
puerile
desires

born of
naively
penned
intentions.

Endless
yearnings
for your
succor
have turned
my aura
black.

Soon you'll
venerate
sacred
sanctuary
proffered.

Cage you,
clip wings
offer
forever
sanctum

inside my
heart-shaped
coffer.

Safely
protected
from
societal discord.

In time
your eyes
unburden,

crying
ballads
firmly
beholden
unto one

who
longly
mourned you.
