BLACK BLIZZARD

With longing I am drawn to the pulse afar
Upon opalescent waters, it spears through my scar
Memories distant as last Spring's petrichor
Reached from the threshold to kill me once more

In the waking dream I envisioned a star
It is you alone in the void of my heart
A lone archway stands at the end of the way
Those amber eyes glistening through the grey

You are the sword and the rope that it cuts
Slumbering in halls that the hours give dust
I pull you from the shelf to avail your words
If only on occasion, as words are a curse

An empty silence is welcoming the night
To take us away from what day had turned blight
With fiction we decide who is strong or weak
As the toil of life grows maddeningly bleak

We seek danger upon ingress
To colour monotony
To cloud the adamantite sky
The storm of our vehemence
Rain of lethe pour over me
That I may forget I'm alive
