Mountains
How long can you cling to the past
Without a glimpse of hope anew?
Blindly believing, hoping, wishing
For make-believe dreams to come true
When two souls unite as one
And half is wrest away
In its wake a lonely, aching, hollow void
Grows more desolate every day
How do the wounds get bandaged
So the heart that bleeds of sorrow
Can beat with love and splendor
Without yearning for my lover tomorrow
When tears keep overflowing
But never cleanse the pain
Can the spirit of what once was
Continue survival, but not in vain?
I don’t know how to overcome
The mountains placed before me
But I will continue to climb in search
Of the love I will forever seek
Without a glimpse of hope anew?
Blindly believing, hoping, wishing
For make-believe dreams to come true
When two souls unite as one
And half is wrest away
In its wake a lonely, aching, hollow void
Grows more desolate every day
How do the wounds get bandaged
So the heart that bleeds of sorrow
Can beat with love and splendor
Without yearning for my lover tomorrow
When tears keep overflowing
But never cleanse the pain
Can the spirit of what once was
Continue survival, but not in vain?
I don’t know how to overcome
The mountains placed before me
But I will continue to climb in search
Of the love I will forever seek
