Happy doesn't stay, even after I do
Todays the day shes waited for since five years old.
Shes pulling up the lacy bodice, the petticoat of purple and blue
She's placing on her new shoes and lacing them up, something blue to pin the veil to her hair, something borrowed from her grandmother dangling from her wrist, and she has her old Letter to God stuffed down in her top, writing her specifications for you.
Looking in the oval mirror of the dressing room, final touches to her hair, her eye shadow flawless and perfectly blended, a little more color to her lips.
She hears the beginning of their song, and he knows she will be singing along.
Everyone in the room is watching her, but she only has eyes for you.
She holds her bouquet with pride you see, two special items are displayed to be seen.
The centerpiece for your lost son, and the butterfly for my gone so long grandfather.
Im sure they'll have no objection, this is our time a match made in heaven.
As the door opens, and the friends and family turn to stare, she starts her journey down the aisle to the love of her life to give herself away today, and every single day after.
Her hands are shaking in excitment, although this isnt her first or even second time she knows God chose you to share her heart with.
I can see your eyes sparkling, that grin that I vow to never take for granted.
I can feel your love go through me, chlls down my spine as i imagine your voice saying gorgeous.
As i finally stand beside you, facing the only man who will ever stake claim on my life, my soul.
I smile, and take a deep breath ready to say my vows.
I vow to always think before i speak, to always stand behind you as a united front in the face of adversity. Because we are a team. I promise to always be your help mate, and never your hurtmate. To raise our family, together in a Godly home. With love respect and family values. You are an amazing man, best friend, companion, lover last but not least an amazing father to all.
So, today when the pastor asks til death do us part, I do, without a doubt, today, tomorrow and everyday after. Until God calls us home, in the prescense of eachother after our earthly work is done.
I will love you until the very last number til the very last day. More so each and everyday, in brand new ways. Randy, i am so exastic that you chose us, to move your life forward and fall right into the hustle and bustle. My strength is yours always, my encouragement never more than a breath away. Perfection isnt an option, but we strive to progress as individuals, a couple and a family.
