Blue Angel
If someone asked what colour
I'd use to define the entirety of my existence,
I'd have to say blue.
Because a wise angel once told me
that blue is not a sad colour,
it's the colour of awareness.
Perhaps the reason so many see blue
as such a dismal hue ,
is that when you see clearly,
you see the pain.
You see the ravenous descent,
of the decent,
into a sallow yellow and crimson,
like sickly blood and pith.
and this paints the colour of open eyes,
and ocean skies,
into the colour of tears and frozen flesh.
But in spite of this connotative wizardry,
I recently learned to circumvent that misery
that comes from existential awareness.
Because I know an angel that thinks blue is a colour of life.
And that's enough for me.
I'd use to define the entirety of my existence,
I'd have to say blue.
Because a wise angel once told me
that blue is not a sad colour,
it's the colour of awareness.
Perhaps the reason so many see blue
