She, Always a Woman
Woman, you take my breath away
Not in what radiates off your precious skin
But what lies deep inside of you
Head held high
Not letting one moment
Of life slip on by
Strength more than a conviction
Capturing every ounce
Of my begging heart
Mother to many, daughter to all
Let me be your comfort
The harbor in your shore
Lead me
Feed me
Be the answer to my prayers
Guide me
Walk beside me
In the waning of our years
Not in what radiates off your precious skin
But what lies deep inside of you
Head held high
Not letting one moment
Of life slip on by
Strength more than a conviction
Capturing every ounce
Of my begging heart
Mother to many, daughter to all
Let me be your comfort
The harbor in your shore
Lead me
Feed me
Be the answer to my prayers
Guide me
Walk beside me
In the waning of our years

Check out Arthur's new blog. He asked me to write something for international women's day and this is what I came up with.

Captured the strengths of a woman so
well, her softer sides subtle, but visible to
strengthen the feel of the poem overall.
Very nice...

This is a beautiful work of art. Whether you're talking of A woman, THE woman or the Mother of us all, gorgeous.

This captures what all women I feel in their hearts want to be viewed as...a strong nurturer, our soft and our strength. Beautiful.
