Depression and Solace
If my heart was an ocean,
you would be it's moon
and I would always be at high tide.
But such dreams are childsplay,
so yet I wade
in my shallow pool of depression,
longing for something,
someone to pull me out.
I feel the riptide of my soul
pulling me under again
and with my last breath,
I call out:
Save me!
I'm trapped in a hollow shell,
where my last hope of shining light
is nothing more than starlight
reflected off of my skin.
I'm losing my only dream.
I could use a guiding hand,
a saving grace.
If you hear me...
As the weight of the world
is thrown upon me once again,
I fight it's cold embrace.
Memories,
like the sand that surrounds me,
slip my every endeavor.
What's to come of me
if all I have is gone?
My final pulse
sends a ripple,
bouncing off my walls
and louder in my head.
From my heart to yours,
a final serenade.
And it's screaming:
Save me!
I'm trapped in a hollow shell,
where my last hope of shining light
is nothing more than starlight
reflected off of my skin.
I'm losing my only dream.
I could use a guiding hand,
a saving grace.
If you hear me...
Rise!
From a sleep as deep as the ocean.
A heart that swells
from the pain it soaks.
A diamond in the night sky
shines upon her eyes.
What's to come of her
if all she has is gone?
A devout prayer
sealed with a single tear
rips through the sky,
razing a path to heaven.
Warm hands embrace me
and the moon overhead
welcomes my soul once again.
As I gasp for air,
her voice,
carried by the wind,
whispers:
Save him...
you would be it's moon
and I would always be at high tide.
