A Poem for N

Her eyes like sunshine upon my tattered soul.
Was it her company I sought?
Or her beauty I desired?
Every smile she sent my way
Made me believe that everything would be okay.
Her laughter rang with angelic radiance.
Brightening the darkness that lay in my silence.
I wondered how her thick curls of dark cedar would feel tangled around my outstretched fingers.
I’ve met angels before.
They often seem to be knocking at my door.
But this one I want,
this one I could adore.
It’s the imperfections that make a person great.
But honey, in my mind you are dripping nectars from a ripe honey suckle,
trickling sweet liquid pollen to lush earth below.
You are glowing star light -
Celestial music dropped on Earth by some Moon Being long ago.
Yes to me you are pristine imperfection.
Perfection is nothing.
An abstract idea - an ideal unattainable
Lacking soul
You are concrete beauty
radiating sass and grace with each sultry movement.
